Giving Back to the Communities We Serve

Credit unions have a social responsibility to uphold the philosophy of “People Helping People” and to support their communities. But at Advance Financial, it’s more than that. You’ve allowed us to serve and be a part of this community for over 80 years. We’re extremely grateful and, therefore, we want to give back. Through sponsorship and a variety of donations, charitable events, financial literacy education programs and unique partnerships with local businesses and organizations, Advance Financial is committed to a better Northwest Indiana.

Be sure to check out our Community Calendar for upcoming programs and events by clicking the link below.

Empowering Local Students Through Education

At Advance Financial, we believe that investing in education is one of the best ways to support our community's future. That’s why we are proudly offering our $5,000 College Scholarship, designed to assist local students in achieving their academic dreams.

Each year, we award scholarships to deserving students who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership, and a commitment to their community. Whether they’re pursuing a degree at a university, college, or trade school, our goal is to help ease the financial burden of higher education and support their journey toward success.

We encourage all eligible students to apply and take advantage of this opportunity.

  • Applications available at both offices on January 2, 2025 - the deadline to apply is March 31.
  • Applicant must be a member of AFFCU as of December 31, 2024.
  • Applicant must be a Lake or Porter County high school graduating senior planning to attain a two-year or four-year degree from an accredited university or college.

By supporting education, we’re not just helping students—we’re strengthening our entire community. Because when we invest in the next generation, we all thrive.

For additional information or an application, please contact Christina Lozano, Marketing Director, at 219.392.3900 x3103.
