Open Your Eyes to a Credit Union

The Credit Union Difference. Many people often ask or wonder “What makes Advance Financial different than a community bank?” Maybe you’ve even asked yourself that question. That just happens to be our favorite question to answer because it’s something we’re extremely proud of.

First, Advance Financial is a not-for-profit financial institution. We exist to help and serve our members, not to make a profit. We are not a part of Wall Street, we are part of Main Street, we’re your neighbors. Instead of issuing stock and paying dividends to outside stockholders, our profits are returned to members in the form of higher savings yields, lower loan rates and other low or no cost services and fees. This also means that we’re owned by our members and governed by a volunteer Board of Directors elected by you.

Credit unions have a social responsibility and purpose. We assist members to become better-educated consumers of financial services, help members of every means in good times and in bad and are involved in the community and a number of worthwhile causes.

Sometimes there are eligibility requirements for joining a credit union, like where you live or work, but Advance Financial is open to the public, serving all of Lake County and Porter County, Indiana.

Why a Credit Union?

So tell your family, tell your friends. There’s a big credit union difference, and we want you all to become a part of it. Open your eyes to a credit union and see more, do more, live more awesome!
